For business and community leaders, the quality of a public charter school relates directly to the educational success of the community. School success translates into efficient business management, high scoring marks, and positive community impact. When 91吃瓜 asked what our member schools wanted to aid in attaining that success, school leaders, and board members overwhelmingly agree that they want the best information possible in every office and classroom. Professional development is the most effective strategy schools and school districts have to meet this expectation.
As part of a multi-pronged communications approach, 91吃瓜 recently re-launched professional development for accounting staff to address the evolving needs of Georgia鈥檚 charter school community.
This professional development commenced on Friday, March 30, with Terence Washington, the Operational Accountability Manager at the State Charter Schools Commission as a guest presenter. Washington spoke about 鈥淭he Ten Challenges with Internal Controls in Charter Schools鈥� to a room packed full of charter school professionals. Not only were participants provided with the educational tools to strengthen their practice, but also placed in a closed setting where they could network with their colleagues.
When we see our charter schools make steady upward progress, we should applaud the role of effective professional development.
