91Թ Hires Program Specialist Andrey Hill

Georgia Charter Schools Association is pleased to welcome Andrey Hill as a program specialist for 91Թ’s GaTAPP Program. Hill comes to 91Թ after serving as a special education teacher and interim chair of the Special Education Department at Hapeville Elementary School. While at Hapeville Elementary, he also worked as a fourth and fifth-grade classroom teacher. In his role as interim chair, Hill collaboratively worked with parents, fellow teachers and administrators to develop and implement individualized education plans for the school’s Special Education Team. He also coordinated referrals and service placement within several school programs including English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and the school’s early intervention program. Hill also oversaw the systematic data collection of student goals and objectives between special education teachers, the school’s general education team and related service providers.

Prior to teaching at Hapeville, Hill worked as a special education teacher for The Main Street Academy. At The Main Street Academy, Hill developed individualized education plans to improve the educational performance of students with disabilities. He modeled several collaborative and co-teaching approaches to fellow educators in need of support. Hill also worked with the school’s response to intervention coordinator to establish a systematic transition of services for students with initial Special Education placements.

“I hope to inspire teachers and give them the tools and support they need to be successful,” said Hill.

In addition to his education career, Hill volunteers with organizations and programs that include All About Developmental Disabilities and Fulton County Schools’ Program for the Education of Children and Youth in Transition.

Hill is excited to bring his extensive knowledge in the field of special education to candidates in 91Թ’s GaTAPP program. Hill received a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Public Policy from Georgia State University and a Master’s of Arts in Teaching, Special Education from Walden University in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
