As the number of public charter schools in Georgia continues to grow, so does the need forgoverning board members with the critical skills required to steer charter schools from mission development, through petition submission, to opening day.
The (91勛圖) is offering a free Board Bank training — Saturday, September 19, 2015, 9:00 am to noon, at 211 Perimeter Center Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30346 — for individuals with a heart for education and the desire to serve on a charter school board of directors.
The training is a comprehensive orientation to the skills and parameters of charter school board service. Please note, it does not satisfy the legal requirements for existing charter school board members.泭
The capacity of a charter school board to govern with professionalism, clear lines of authority and best practices is absolutely critical to a schools success, says Waynica Staples, 91勛圖s Director of Leadership Development and Training.
